About This Initiative
The 150K Guyana Coders Initiative (GCI) is a program by the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Government of Guyana. GCI aims to trigger digital awareness in Guyana. Over the course of 3 years, Guyanese learners will have the opportunity to gain foundational level skills across three domains: Programming Fundamentals, Data Science Fundamentals and Android Kotlin Developer Fundamentals. Learners will be supported by mentors, who will support them on a dedicated Community Platform, to unblock technical questions on a daily basis throughout the 6-7 week courses. Upon successful course completion, learners will be awarded with skill-based certifications.
This program is an off-shoot of the historic One Million Arab Coders program, which was announced in 2017 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum at the World Economic Forum.
